Lori Rhodes

When Lori faces a blank canvas, she doesn’t know where she’s headed but is frequently influenced by recent pivotal world events. Shape and line work are fundamental to her abstract practice. As she works on a painting, the meaning and relationship of these elements evolve with each layer. Growing up in California as the daughter of midwestern farmers gave Lori an incredible work ethic, but accessing her feelings has been more difficult. Looking inward and revealing these emotions has allowed her to communicate visually and bring a deeper understanding of herself and the world around her.
