Jo-Anne Westerby

Since she was little, Jo-Anne has been most comfortable outside, in the Pacific North West forests, by any ocean, river, lake, or pond, and especially in her garden. She loves the immensity and minutiae of the mossy floor, the rain forest, the ripples and reflections in water, and the colours and patterns of flowers and foliage. Jo-Anne is outside every day, gently looking, listening, and absorbing. By opening her senses and lingering in nature, she bridges the gap between nature and herself, entering that ‘soft fascination’ place that informs, guides, and nurtures her art practice.
