Caroline Millar

Inspired by age-worn surfaces, Caroline begins with free expressive play and moves through many layers of patching and revealing, as part of a mindful process that is both complex and intuitive, measured yet unknown. Her art is an expression of her sensitivity, her vulnerability, and her desire to be authentic and comfortable with being seen. She draws on experiences from childhood, and her visceral reaction to whichever environment she finds herself in, whether that be the busy built-up urban landscape of Glasgow, where she hails from, or the quiet open coastal environment of the Isle of Cumbrae, which she now calls home.
